Wood

The things we surround ourselves with that provide shelter or comfort are some of what I call “necessary arts”; why not make them beautiful? I think of my furniture as functional sculpture (especially chairs) where comfort is the first criterion (form follows function) and a lean, rigid structure is my aim. During lockdown a couple years ago I was able to indulge in something I always wanted to do. Over the years I would save interesting bits of wood with the idea of using them to make non-functional assemblages. Sculpture.
Voila! The Covid Collection.
Stay tuned.
