One Eyed Cat Crafts puts the “Fun” in “Functional Ceramics”. Each item is hand crafted with care and an eye for quality. The designs found on the work are what set me aside from other ceramic artists. I put together imagery that is a throwback to the collector cups of the 1980’s that I had, and loved, as a child. I set out to make the cup, or bowl, that you will fight over in your cupboard. The ones that everyone knows are yours and not to use.
I have been creating things since I was very little. I still try to instill the fun and freedom of creating as a young child in the work I create today. By using weird mash-ups and unexpected imagery combinations my work delights both the young and old. The use of pop culture references, in my work, draws in people who would not normally be interested in hand made ceramics and allows the conversation of why they are important to begin. Though they may not always leave with a piece of pottery customers often leave with the experience similar to looking at the Funny Pages in the newspaper. All items are microwave and dishwasher safe, but as the old saying goes, “Hand made hand wash”. The choice is yours.
