My pottery is functional and decorative. Working with clay provides a fundamental connection to the earth. The forms I create are influenced by experiences and insights of places and people I have met.
I am inspired by the rolling hills, and valleys, of Southwest Wisconsin. Another inspiration is Lake Michigan where I visit often in Algoma, Wi.
I layer a multitude of different color glazes by the use of a spray gun .This creates impressions of the Kickapoo region and the movements of Lake Michigan.. Another type of glazing I use is called Majolica. I use different types of paint brushes and apply layers of bright colored glazes.
