My journey into wearable art began decades ago with sewing my own clothing. My interest in jewelry making and eco-printing came much later in life. I am primarily self-taught, but have taken courses over the past several years to expand my skills, metalsmithing in particular. I start a piece by first choosing the beads or natural stones that inspire me. I also work with sterling silver, copper, and gold filled metals. Metal work allows me a greater sense of creativity and control that enriches my jewelry making process. I enjoy blending stones and metal to create unique pieces I would wear myself. I sometimes  incorporate vintage metal pieces or family heirlooms to create a truly unique piece, blending old and new. More recently, I began eco-printing which uses natural dyes, leaves, flowers and creativity to produce color and prints on scarves, and on paper. I typically use silk as my medium, but have been extending the process on watercolor paper.
